Evie's story
Evie's story
During Mental Health Awareness Week, five-year-old Evie took part in a sponsored litter-pick and raised over £150 for Place2Be.
Evie shares her story and advice for anyone considering raising money for charity.
What made you decide to fundraise for Place2Be?
I wanted to do something to help the planet and I thought that it would be fun to raise some money.
It was really good because I got to do two things: clean up the earth and raise money for children to get the help they need.
Why do you think supporting young people’s mental health is important?
Just in case something bad happens to a child, it’s good for them to have someone to talk to and to listen to their worries.
Is there any advice you would give to someone struggling with their mental health?
Talk about it. Don't keep your worries bottled up because you might pop.
The amazing amount raised by Evie could allow more than three children to have a 50-minute one-to-one session with a counsellor.
